  How do I transfer it to Last Digital?

We support transfers of .com, .net, .org, .info, .co.uk, org.uk, .biz & .me.uk domains. The transfer process depends on the registrar with whom you registered your domain name. Most registrars request that you log on to their systems and transfer the domain name yourself using the user name and password they assigned you. Once you log on to their site, you will need to change the nameserver information. If you have a Canada domain (.co.uk or .org.uk), you need to contact your registrar and have them change the IPS tag. The transfer process typically takes 24 to 48 hours.

What is a domain name transfer?
Every domain is registered by a provider (registrar) with the corresponding NIC (network information centre). The provider also looks after the technical issues of the domain.

If you transfer your domain to Last Digital the domain entry in the NIC's database has to be edited to allow us to edit your nameserver entries and thus actually host your domain.

When transferring your .com, .net or .org domain you may also change the owner of the domain. This change has to be done by the registrar.

.co.uk and .org.uk domains administration is limited to nameserver entries. Changes of the domain owner have to be made directly with the NIC (Nominet). (Domains which were registered directly with Nominet do not have an associated registrar. In that case Nominet has to assign a TAG (LASTDIGITAL) first.)
 
 
How expensive is it to transfer my domain to Last Digital?
All the necessary steps for the transfer will be done at no additional charge!

We will only charge the Domain Registration fee:

  • £2.95   pa (payable for two years in advance) for .co.uk,.org.uk & .me.uk domains.
  • £6.50 pa (payable for 1 year in advance) for .com, .net, .org domains
  • £8.49 pa (payable for two years in advance) for .info domains
  • £8.49 pa (payable for two years in advance) for .biz domains

THE PROCEDURE FOR TRANSFERRING A .CO.UK or .ORG.UK DOMAINS:

 

·  Enter the name of the domain you wish to transfer to Last Digital Ltd. into the designated field.

·  After that we display the data of the current owner of the domain. If that is correct please proceed with the ordering process (selection of package, address, etc.)

 ·  You have to have your old provider change the TAG (that TAG shows the provider who is responsible for a domain) . Once this is done we will update the nameservers and the domain will then be hosted by Last Digital Ltd.. If your domain does not have a TAG (is UNTAGGED) you need to apply for a TAG at Nominet.
·  You may use the form we generate at the end of the ordering process to send to your old provider or Nominet. Please note that you must sign the form before sending it.
·  The TAG which needs to be entered is 'LASTDIGITAL'. Please note the all caps spelling.

Don't change the domain-TAG before you have placed your domain order within our database !

·  You may use the form we generate in the course of the ordering process to send to your old provider or Nominet. Please note that you must sign the form before sending it.

THE PRODEDURE FOR A TRANSFER OF A .COM/.NET /.ORG DOMAINS

1.       Enter the name of the domain you wish to transfer to Last Digital Ltd. into the designated field.

2.       After that we display the data of the current owner of the domain. If that is correct please proceed with the ordering process (selection of package, address, etc.). For .info & .biz domains, the Authorization ID is needed.

3.       We will send the current owner of the domain the necessary forms via post. These must be signed and then mailed or faxed to the address/number specified on the letter. With his signature the owner authorises Last Digital Ltd. to facilitate the transfer of the desired domain. (If the address registered with the current registrar is incorrect it must be changed by the current registrar before a transfer can be attempted).

4.       As soon as we receive the consent of the current owner we will start the transfer of the domain.

5.       As soon as your old provider acknowledges the transfer your domain will be available on our servers.

 Important remarks: 

1.       .com, .net and .org domains can only be transferred from one registrar to another 60 days after registration.

2.       If necessary you might have to cancel a hosting contract you have had with your old provider.

The whole transfer process usually takes about 7 - 14 days.
